On Sunday, October 31st, 2010, the children’s group Verbochki from The Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn, New York presented the play “MAMA” at St. Alexander’s. The play touched everyone in the packed audience who witnessed the dedication and hard work of each and every child who participated. Under the direction of Matushka Maria Ivanova, the group arrived the night before and participated in the Vigil Services. They practiced late into the night before going to sleep in the church hall, the entire family of kids excited for the next day. On Sunday, following the Divine Liturgy, the children began their spectacular show with acting and singing by all who participated. The entire hall was completely filled with people who where so pleased to see these young people preserving their Russian Heritage and culture in such a wonderful display.
